SURABAYA, March 26, 2026 – The Ministry of Public Works and Housing (PUPR) proudly announces the full operation of Sections 1 and 2 of the Probolinggo-Situbondo-Banyuwangi (Prosiwangi) Toll Road. This eagerly anticipated 24-kilometer stretch is now ready to serve the public, marking a significant milestone in East Java's infrastructure development and bolstering the vision of national connectivity.

The operationalization of these initial two sections is a crucial part of the government's strategy to accelerate the distribution of goods and services, and facilitate the mobility of people in the eastern part of Java. Strengthening Logistics and Tourism Networks

With the opening of this initial phase of the Probolinggo-Situbondo-Banyuwangi section, travel times between key cities in East Java are projected to decrease significantly. "This 24-kilometer segment is not just asphalt and concrete; it's a lifeline for East Java's future prosperity, connecting people, goods, and opportunities like never before," stated Mr. Basuki Hadimuljono, Minister of PUPR, during the inauguration attended by various regional officials and business leaders.

"We've observed increased tourist interest since the trial operation of this toll road segment. Easier access means more visits and greater economic circulation for local communities," said Mrs. Sri Mulyani, a tourism activist in Banyuwangi.
